Located in Faafu Atoll, south west of Male, Filitheyo is the only resort in this atoll. It is one of the larger islands, taking around 30 minutes to walk around the perimeter. The dense interior which is a maze of mature palm groves, makes this a particularly attractive island. There is excellent snorkelling on the house reef which is easily accessible from the beach. For the complete package of great accommodation, food and snorkelling at reasonable prices, Filitheyo is still our island of choice.

The Island
There are plenty of luxuries here too, providing the perfect combination of a high quality resort retaining natural charm and character. The food is certainly one of the highlights at Filitheyo. It is consistently superb with a huge selection of dishes catering for a wide range of tastes. We particularly love the various local Maldivian fish curries on offer most evenings. Desserts in the Maldives can sometimes be a disappointment: but not in Filitheyo. Fresh fruit sorbets, profiteroles, apple crumble and peanut ice cream, to name but a few, are on offer. Facilities include a very attractive infinity swimming pool with swim-up bar and sunken library where internet access can be obtained for a small charge.
Filitheyo offers excellent value for money and remains very popular with both our clients and our own Family. For high standards of food and accommodation and great snorkelling at a reasonable price, you can’t go wrong with Filitheyo.
Transfer
Filitheyo is located in Faafu atoll which is 115 km from Male and reached by seaplane, taking around 35 minutes.
On arrival at Filitheyo airport (a floating wooden platform located just beyond the island), a local dhoni boat will complete your transfer to the resort.

Facilities
House Reef: The house reef is close to the shore where six channels have been cut through to the reef edge for snorkelling and diving. It is teaming with a huge array of underwater life. On our last visit, our children regularly snorkeled with octopus, manta rays, turtles and squid in addition to the many tropical fish.
Diving: Werner Lau operates a full programme of courses and boat dives to local sites. The dive centre is very popular and especially well equipped. They offer introductory dives for children aged 8 and over in a very safe and professional environment.
Water Sports: The water sports centre offers wind surfing, canoeing and catamaran sailing. For those who are not experts, sunset cruises or island hopping trips can be organised on the catamaran with a sailing instructor.
Shop: There is a small shop selling snacks and souvenirs and also a jewellery shop.
Spa: For those who want to be pampered, ‘The Spa At Filitheyo’ offers a full range of treatments and therapies which can be booked either individually or as a pamper package.
Child Minding: This can normally be arranged with a member of staff for an additional charge.
